I have been running Windows 10 for some time with no problems using Microsoft Word 2007. Suddenly today Word will not open. If I try to open the application directly I get the following message (paraphrased): Word did not start correctly, start in safe mode?I've tried selecting both yes (to start in safe mode) and no (to start regularly.) Neither option has been successful.

If I try to open a document from file explorer I get the 'allow this program to make changes' dialog box and then a message that says 'Therewas a problem sending the command to the program.I have tried searching this and several forums and have had no luck with any of the suggestions. Even uninstalling and reinstalling Office 2007 was not successful.
Excel works fine (haven't tried any of the other Office suite applications other than Exceland Word.)Is there perhaps a recent update that has created this situation that can be uninstalled? Office 2007 transferred OK. Word 2007 working fine for a while.Had to purchase a new printer (Canon ip7250) at the time of upgrade as no Win 10 compatible drivers were available for my old printer.
As I have Windows 10 64bit, I downloaded latest file 'iP7200 series Printer Driver Ver. 1.01 (Windows 10/10 x64/8.1/8.1x64/8/8 x64/7/7 x64/Vista/Vista64/XP)' from Canon website. Printer Driver showing as at version 2.60 after driver download. HOWEVER Microsoft Word 2007 will not start - hangs at the yellow start-up window.Your advice above is to remove printer drivers - which I do and every time MS Word 2007 springs back into life (have been round this loop 3 times now). Now I find I can force Word 2007 back into life by going to Control Panel Hardware and Sound Devicesand Printers, right-click on the printer, select 'Remove Device', power off the printer and then power on again!Question is what is the permanent solution?
